Hello! My name is Hannah and I'm a music history enthusiast and training vocalist from South Carolina. As I am currently a sophomore in music school, I've been tasked to start this blog about musical cultures of the world for a class and I could not be more excited! I'm kinda a nerd for this stuff!!!

You might be wondering about the title of my blog page, Musical Airport. Honestly, the explanation is simple: 1) I wanted a real extra name for my blog and 2) I thought it kind of worked with the exploration theme I wanted to establish. An airport is where you have the ability to go and experience anything anywhere! It's a forum for meeting, learning, and wonder... if you can get over the jet lag! :) I wanted this blog to not just be for class, but a place to learn and experience as much as possible through the internet medium.

Music is vastly different across the world and has an amazing way of shifting definitions, depending on who you ask. As we delve into these discussions, I hope you learn as much as I do and deepen your understanding of music and it's abilities.
